CLEANROOM / UPGRADE & EXPANSION

Upgrade the cleanroom.
Plan around operations.

Newzone coordinates cleanroom renovation, reconfiguration and expansion for operating manufacturing facilities. The starting point is what must change, what can be retained and which operations need protection.

A defined technical package. Coordinated delivery.

For facility engineers, production teams and main contractors adapting an existing cleanroom for additional capacity, new equipment, a revised layout or targeted performance improvements.

Enclosure modifications

Reconfigure partitions, doors, glazing, ceilings and flooring to suit the revised production arrangement and maintainable access.

Production-area expansion

Connect new controlled areas with existing circulation, equipment movement and supporting services. Define temporary boundaries and final interfaces.

HVAC and filtration coordination

Review proposed changes against existing air-system capacity, air paths and pressure relationships with the responsible design and facility teams.

Equipment and utility interfaces

Coordinate utility relocations, new branches, penetrations and isolation requirements against the equipment schedule and agreed shutdown windows.

Resolve the constraints before construction.

Survey before retaining systems

Review available layouts, test and maintenance records, visible condition and service capacity. Retention is assessed against the new performance requirements.

Protect the operating area

Agree segregation, dust and contamination controls, material routes, access permits and monitoring with the facility operator.

Shutdowns need explicit planning

Isolation, tie-in, reinstatement, cleaning and verification may need shutdown windows. Continued production everywhere cannot be guaranteed.

From scope review to handover.

01

Review the baseline

Understand the current installation, revised process and available test records.

02

Define the change

Agree retained systems, modifications, performance criteria and interface responsibilities.

03

Sequence the works

Plan temporary boundaries, access, shutdowns and return-to-service hold points.

04

Verify affected systems

Coordinate the agreed checks and any reclassification before operational release.

Start with the information you have.

A first enquiry can be brief. Drawings and technical schedules can follow through an agreed transfer method.

  • Existing and proposed layout, approximate affected area and height
  • Current and target ISO class, occupancy state and available test records
  • Equipment changes and utility or cooling requirements
  • Operating hours, protected production zones and possible shutdowns
  • Known defects, access restrictions and intended completion date

Establish the details early.

Can an existing cleanroom be upgraded without full replacement?

Often, selected enclosure and services can be retained after assessment. Suitability depends on their condition, capacity, revised room arrangement and target performance. A survey and scope review determine what should be modified or replaced.

Can production continue during a cleanroom upgrade?

Some work can be phased around protected operations. Activities that affect shared air systems, pressure boundaries or utility supplies may still require shutdowns. The plan must agree segregation, monitoring, access and release criteria with the operator.

What drives cleanroom upgrading costs?

Retained-system condition, extent of enclosure work, additional air or cooling capacity, utility relocations, temporary protection, access and shutdown restrictions all matter. Testing, cleaning and reclassification requirements should be included in the cost basis.

Is reclassification required after an upgrade?

Assess the impact of the modifications with the facility quality and engineering teams. Changes affecting airflow, filters, enclosure or operating conditions can require specified checks and classification testing. The acceptance scope should be agreed before work.
